Framework Working Group

Goals & objectives

The IIPC Framework Working Group aims to create a shared technical basis for Web archiving activities. This common framework will take the form of architectural guidelines, standard formats and terms, and system interface specifications. Our goals include enabling technical interoperability between member libraries, and reusing existing open standards and models, such as the OAIS model wherever practical.

Expected deliverables

• Architectural Overview Document(s)
• Archival format and metadata schema specifications for harvested Internet/Web resources
• A high-level API for accessing archived resources
• Other format and API specifications as needed
